Illustrated in a warm, detailed engraving style with hand-coloured figures in 19th-century costume — farmers, lovers, soldiers, merchants, and domestic scenes — rendered in terracottas, sage greens, dusty blues, and warm yellows on an aged cream ground, with ornate gold scrollwork borders.

The card backs are a clean white ground with a dense repeating pattern of eight-pointed grey stars. The box is a teal-green tuck box with a warm peach-orange front panel.
