One of the most significant esoteric tarot decks ever created, the Initiatory Golden Dawn Tarot is a masterwork of occult scholarship and artistic vision. Written by Giordano Berti and illustrated by Patrizio Evangelisti, this 78-card deck draws directly from the teachings of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn — the legendary 19th-century magical society whose members included Aleister Crowley, Arthur Edward Waite, and William Butler Yeats.
Every card is steeped in the initiatory symbolism of the Golden Dawn tradition: Kabbalistic correspondences, elemental attributions, astrological associations, and the sacred geometry of the Rose Cross — the iconic symbol that appears on the card backs, inscribed with the Golden Dawn motto Konx Om Pax · Khabs Am Pekht ("Light in Extension"), surrounded by a golden laurel wreath and the symbols of the four elements, the planets, and the Hebrew alphabet.
The artwork itself is extraordinary: richly coloured, dramatically composed, and deeply symbolic. Card titles appear in six languages — English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, and Dutch — reflecting the universal scope of the Golden Dawn's influence.
The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn was founded in London in 1888 and became the most influential Western esoteric organisation of the modern era. Its system of magic synthesised Kabbalah, astrology, alchemy, Enochian magic, and tarot into a coherent initiatory curriculum. The Rider-Waite-Smith tarot — the most widely used deck in the world — was itself a product of Golden Dawn teaching. This deck goes further, encoding the full initiatory system directly into the imagery of each card.
